Our Story

We are Lindsey and Jared Young!

You may be wondering what led us to adoption—and we’re happy to share our story.

Jared grew up in a family shaped by both adoption and unexpected miracles. His parents faced infertility challenges and were told they had less than a 2% chance of having biological children. They were incredibly blessed to grow their family through adoption, and his siblings—who came into their lives through that journey—are true miracles. Jared was their unexpected 2%, a surprise addition to their beautiful family.

While we were dating, we suspected that fertility might also be a challenge for us. Before we got married, we talked about it openly and embraced the idea that our family might grow in a different way.

Adoption has always felt like a natural and meaningful path for us. We’re so hopeful and full of faith as we begin this journey, trusting that God has a special plan for our future family.

Fun Fact About Us...

We actually kind of grew up together! We were just a grade apart and went to all the same schools. Though we didn’t talk much growing up, we definitely knew of each other. Flash forward to college—a mutual friend set us up, and we’ve never looked back.

We got married on June 18, 2022, and in 2023 we welcomed Flora into our family—the best decision we ever made! She brings so much joy into our lives, and we know she’ll be the perfect companion for our future child.

A bit about Flora...

Flora loves walks, cuddles, and—most of all—fetch! Seriously, she could play all day; she has endless energy. You will always find her with a toy ready to hand to someone. She’s a big part of our family and joins in on lots of activities, like visiting grandparents, camping, swimming, and even paddleboarding (which she absolutely loves!).

More About Who We Are

Quality time is really important to us. Whether we’re playing board games, going on a date, or just hanging out at home, we love being together. Even simple things—like grocery shopping or running errands—feel special when we’re doing them side by side.

During the summer, we often head up the canyon to camp, fish, hike, or just enjoy nature. It’s our favorite way to relax and reconnect. We look forward to sharing these peaceful moments and outdoor adventures with our future child.

Visiting family is really important to us. We love spending time with our loved ones and catching up on each other’s lives. Holidays spent with family have always been a highlight for us—full of love, laughter, and traditions we cherish.

We’re excited to create meaningful memories and celebrate those special moments with our future child, surrounded by the people who love us most.

There are so many traditions we dream of sharing with our child someday, and thinking about that fills our hearts with joy. We can’t wait to experience Christmas mornings, making the season feel truly magical, and to celebrate birthdays, where we’ll make our child feel like the most special person in the world.

We also know that these moments may bring up complex emotions for you, and we want to acknowledge the incredible love and courage it takes to place your child with adoptive parents. Please know that we will always honor you as an important part of our child’s story. We will remind them of your strength, your love, and the beautiful gift you gave them. We promise to share your story with them and celebrate the bond they share with you, so they always know just how loved and cherished they are—by both us and the incredible woman who brought them into this world.
